Pool owners who want to extend the swimming season even after the onset of winter should install a gas pool heater. These increase the temperature of the water in the pool, thus making it possible to swim even in the colder months of the year. Water passes into the heater through the filter and is warmed in its combustion chamber. It is then passed back into the pool, allowing you to swim in comfortably warm water. Follow these steps to install your own before the temperatures start to drop. Step 1 — Purchase Your Gas Heater Gas pool heaters come in a variety of sizes that determine their cost. Purchase one according to the size of your pool.

Installing a Propane Swimming Pool Heater Posted on by Davy Merino October 15, If you live in an area without natural gas service, but want the comfort and convenience of a gas pool heater, you can install a propane gas pool heater! Just about any natural gas heater you can buy is also available as a propane heater.
The only difference is in the orifice sizes, for the gas valve and burner orifices. LPG heaters also cost exactly the same as a natural gas heater. Propane heaters should be placed on a non-combustible surface, with feet of clear space all around.

Installation of Pool and Spa Filters Installing a pool filter is a fairly straightforward process, but it always requires care and the faithful following of a few basic rules. The text below covers those basics, but before you start cutting PVC and lubricating O-rings, remember that this is a generic guide and that you should always consult manufacturers’ literature before working with any unfamiliar products.
Beyond that, once you survey the situation by inspecting the equipment pad, the plumbing design and the electrical system, you should be ready to go. Sizing up the task at hand When it comes to filters, some of the most fundamental considerations can make the biggest differences. Where the unit is located, how neatly it is incorporated into the overall circulation system and how it’s tied into the pool’s electrical circuitry are all very important.
The equipment pad should be a flat, level slab of poured concrete, brick or concrete block. Never install a new filter on wood, because it can warp or decay beneath the filter’s footings and compromise the position of the unit. Three things to watch:

Pool Fountains — Add Some Splash! Posted on by Jaquelynn Pettinato June 27, Sure, we all know that pool fountains are pretty to look at, but did you know the number one reason most people buy pool fountains is for a sound barrier. Also, research has shown that fountains are a great stress reducer, and the sound of flowing water promotes relaxation.
Third, a constant water ripple keeps debris moving toward the skimmer.

Posted by Satyendra on Jun 13, in Technical 2 comments Continuous Casting Machine and its Equipment Continuous casting CC is a method of producing an infinite solid strand from liquid steel by continuously solidifying it as it moves through a CC machine. It is the predominant process route in a modern steel plant which links steelmaking and hot rolling.
A typical section and plan view of a CC machine is shown in Fig 1. Fig 1 Typical section and plan view of a CC machine Types of continuous casting machines CC machines have evolved from the strictly vertical type of machine to curved machines in order to limit the installation height while still using high casting speeds.
In recent years, CC machines of more sophisticated mechanical design are being constructed. These machines apply several techniques for achieving higher casting speeds and higher outputs and are with progressive straightening or progressive bending over a liquid core. The main types of the CC machines which are in operation these days are given below. Simple vertical CC machine with a straight mould and cutoff in the vertical position Vertical CC machine with a straight mould along with single point bending and straightening Vertical CC machine with a straight mould along with progressive bending and straightening Bow type machine with curved mould and straightening Bow type machine with curved mould and progressive straightening In all cases, the bending and straightening is usually carried out in one or several steps.
Multistep bending and straightening reduces the mechanical stresses and reduces the risk of strand cracking. Then later the development led to many kinds of CC machines with various ways of bending and straightening. The main objective for these developments have been to construct lower and simpler CC machines with smaller need for space, lower investment costs, and high flexibility in production and maintenance. One of the main issues with a vertical CC machine is that the distance between the mould and the point of cutting is limited.
Inground Swimming Pool Heater Costs: But heating pool water seems extravagant and expensive! However, I suppose that depends on your threshold for financial pain. After the cost to buy a pool heater, there is the cost to install a pool heater, and then the cost to run a pool heater. Solar heat is Free, but not so reliable. Pool heat pumps cost less to operate than gas heaters in most states, although the price of Natural Gas has come down as the US is now the world’s largest producer of Natural Gas.
When necessary to supply pool equipment or where space limitations prevent wiring from being routed 5 ft or more from the pool, spa or hot tub, wiring shall be installed in rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, or a nonmetallic raceway system.
This is normally done using a pool vacuum, but in some cases, a leaf bagging device may be needed. Here is the process of setting up and using a pool vacuum. Assemble the Equipment – connect your extension pole to the vacuum head. Then connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum head. Sink the Vacuum Hose – before you hook the vacuum hose into your skimmer, you need to get all the air out of it. If you don’t, you will suck a bunch of air into your pump and you may lose prime on your pump.

It’s not your pool’s fault. It’s the old, tired equipment. The energy profile of your pool equipment may cause your jaw to drop uncontrollably. Traditional pool pumps often burn – watts. The wildly inefficient valves found on sand and DE filters may increase power consumption further, up to another watts. Inefficient booster pumps used to power automatic pool cleaners consume another – watts.
Salt water chlorinators can burn another – watts. Last but not least, a typical pool light requires up to watts. When all equipment is running, a pool can use the same energy as fifty watt light bulbs. Pool Express specializes in the analysis and distribution of top-rated energy efficient pool equipment.
